"A peek at the Star Wars costumes coming to St. Petersburg with ‘Star Wars and the Power of Costume'" — When an exhibit of Star Wars costumes landed at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, I knew these were the droids I'd been looking for. In a preview of the exhibit's opening, I delved into the costumes and what they mean for the films.
"Primer on Bollywood films" — In the ultimate show of being in the right place at the right time, I as a quiet Bollywood fan working for the Tampa Bay Times was uniquely placed when the Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) Awards chose to come to Tampa Bay in 2014. Ahead of the event, I wrote a layman's primer for Bollywood films as well as a travel story (see travel writing page) about my experience going to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. This was my first of many IIFA-related bylines.
